Work-Work-Play-Work-Work-Work!

Hey everyone,
In attempts to keeping this blog up todate:
We've been given our third year project, everyone assigned in groups of three.
So it's a group of all women, and none of us are from Ireland. Which makes things interesting,
and pretty fun. xD I'm not saying being the only girl in a computing course for two years was
bad in anyway. You get used to the boys and their interesting conversations. It is nice though,
to be able to have another woman around to chat with in class.

Speaking about classes, I've got two classes for this semester, Systems Programming, and
Network Security. Both I think are rather interesting.

I have a friend who is MADD(hinthint) busy with too many things to mention here right now. I don't think I have talked to him yet without his brain being busy with a million ideas at once. That boy is like an energizer bunny-He wont stop moving forward! (which is a great thing, so keep it up!) I offered to help out with some Javascripting, but haven't gotten around to doing anything yet [Baaad Ezgi Baad, I know. D=]. I'm hoping to jump into it this coming week. Hopfully it's not too late to help him out. xD

Another friend is busy setting up his own radioshow. He's been working pretty hard to get things in order, bring in new DJs, setting up events, and just working hard! I was asked to help out with writing a weekly newsletter for him. I'll try my best, and hopfully he'll like the end result of what it looks like. :)

Got headphones for my keyboard finally (not computer keyboard I mean, piano keyboard-or electric keyboard-I just call it "a keyboard"). I'll be able to practice more now, knowing I wont be bothering anyone with loud and repeated practicing. :D It's hard remembering the notes when you don't have your old music sheets with you! Dx I'm planning on tracking down every single one of them. I don't know if I can but if I ever get to playing the piano well again, I want to try playing over at the grand piano they have here. ....But I wont say when or where it is. =| no one is allowed to watch. >=| ...I'll be too embarrassed so please don't ask.

We were worried for my Sister, she had to have some scans done. Had been complaining of her eye hurting her for a few weeks. My mom went over to be with her when she visted the doctors. Thankfully everything is A-Okay! The scans came back clean, they want to do a blood test as well, but it's not for anything serious. I'm so glad that she's alright. I love my sister, she is one of the main idols in my life. My confidant someone I turn to for advice and guidence during my troubled but as well as for my happy times. She works harder then anyone I've ever known, and doesn't take crap from anyone! I think there are LOADS of things that she will accomplish, just you wait and see. xD I'm thankfull, glad, and proud to tell people that I'm her little sister. ;) She doesn't let obstacles slow her down, or get in her way. I can only hope I can be as strong as her as my own obstacles pop up in my own life. So yes, I'm glad that everything is alright, that she's okay. <3

Mom is coming back today so yaaay....that does remind me...I have to clean up the house before she gets here! xD

Yes, I'm still working in the International Students Society. We have our Welcome Back Party on tonight actually, at the Old Oak, so that should be fun. Including an International Dinner, Galway Trip, and other events I'm looking forward to. :)

Lets do a quick Random News segment while we're at it:

If you haven't already gone to see the Avatar I suggest you get over to the nearest cinema that is still showing it. It's a movie that you MUST watch in the cinema theaters, wearing the dorky 3-D glasses. Don't worry no one will see you in the dark while you wear them (the ones we had made us look like Carl Fredricksen from the animatino UP-all we were missing was the walking stick with tennis balls at the end). Fiddling around on youtube, watching some videos about the "making of the avatar" I stumbled upon a review that made some pretty interesting points. The creaters of review: RedLetterMedia Link: Here
Warning: It pretty much goes through the entire movie so watch at your own risk if you haven't seen the movie yet. Also get ready to laugh your heart out. I couldn't stop laughing through the entire review. :)

If you don't already know there was a huge earthquake in Haiti. With 200,000 Haitians killed by it, everyone around the work is putting in their efforts to help the people out. If you would like to help out and donate I suggest you visit the website for the Red Cross and Red Crescent
and make a donation. Link: I want to Help out!

China is strongly suggesting that USA cancels their meeting with the Dalai Lama.

Beware of the women who are quick to anger and love highheels. A man in London wasstabbed
in the eye by....a stiletto! Ouch!

A colorful Carnival went on the Venice! Huffintonpost has some great photos of the event!
Go take a looksee-> Here!

Apparently Bill Gates made some interesting points during his TED speech. Involving how technology should focus more on Climate Changes. He used some interesting props during his speech.

The Olympics has started out on a sad note, with one of the competitors passing away just hours before the event. You can learn more about the story here.
Most of the athletes donned black armbands.

Well that's about it for this post. I'm trying to keep things short for now (didn't do a good job of that today). Have to finish up some labs, and get over to the sports hall for some basketball. I think with all the stress and work going around me, playing basketball is one of things that helps me relax. I'm not too comfortable in the gyms, and it's a lot more fun running around then just staying in one spot on a machine (in my view anyway).

Hope you all are having a great weekend. Work hard, party responsibly, and don't be afraid to reach for the goals you have for the year 2010!

You can do eeeet!
